fun collaboration with Alphonse Mattia

Alphonse Mattia, who teaches in the Furniture Design Department at RISD, saw my Sock Monkey Suit at the RISD Faculty Biennial, and was inspired to seek me out to see if we could work on something together. He made a limited edition chair for that show and called it "Fetish", and thought we could at least have his chair photographed with my monkey, for starters.
I sent him to Amy Fries, a RISD Photo student, who is a great photographer and budding garment designer, who shot my fall 09 lookbook, and just won the Wingate Fellowship for Crafts ($15,000 for a post graduate year of travel and research- I am so proud of her!), and THIS is what they came up with.
The model is Rebecca, a senior at RISD in Furniture.
